Employment Opportunity – Engagement Specialist

Lone Star Victims Advocacy Project’s mission is to educate, advocate for, and provide free legal services to empower abused immigrants in rural Texas.

LSVAP is seeking a flexible individual with initiative, creativity, superlative communication skills and commitment to social justice to support legal work for immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and trafficking. This is a full-time position.

Primary Duties: recruit, manage, train and supervise volunteers; work with supervisor to develop procedures and policies for volunteer management and build internship programs; conduct outreach and relationship management with large law firms to build pro-bono partnership capacity; support legal staff in an administrative capacity; assist in maintaining client database and templates; assist director in operations level administrative work; assist in developing manuals and procedures, as well as literature on same; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years office experience required; Previous work experience managing volunteers; bilingual reading/writing skills preferred (English/Spanish); experience working with women, immigrants, families a plus; high degree of familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and standard office systems required; ability to work independently and follow through on assignments in timely manner; typing speed must be at least 40-45 words per minute; organized and reliable with strong attention to detail; strong administrative skills.

Compensation: $33,000 - $38,000, DOE, with full benefits and generous vacation time. Generally informal work setting with colleagues dedicated to the anti-domestic violence movement, and social justice. LSVAP is an equal opportunity employer.
